Dealing with Global suppliersYou identify the opportunities for continuous improvement within internal processes and the supply base and the global suppliers who will meet the ongoing demands of the Business Unit. Focusing on best Cost, Quality and Delivery precision you consolidate the current suppliers to ensure leverage opportunities are fully exploited. The sourcing budget of this team is around € 65 million. You collaborate closely with the Engineering and Operations functions and will be able to deliver consistent results, ensuring projects are managed effectively and delivered on time. You support new product development, by directing the Project teams to design solutions with optimised costs and ensure that the right supplier is involved in design discussions when appropriate. The position will operate within a global marketplace, therefore, although based in Germany you are willing to travel worldwide as required. You will report to the Sourcing Manager.
Le Profil
Strong Project Manager with great negotiation skillsYou have a higher educational degree in a relevant technical subject, preferably in Engineering and a proven track record in purchasing and network building in an international environment. Ideally you are experienced in purchasing from a Global Supplier base with a focus on quality, supplier development, process engineering and continuous improvement, such as Lean, Six Sigma etc. Experience in Aluminium die castings and machining would be beneficial. Thanks to strong communication skills and the ability to work in a cross functional team, you take a pivotal role in documenting improvement plans and ensuring that supply is stabilised and the risk to customer orders minimized, in the event of a supplier performance failure. Proficient in negotiation and capable of finalising business unit wide agreements, you minimize risk exposure and provide optimal terms and conditions. You are fluent in German and English.
