BEST specializes in the removal of odd objects, defects or discoloration in food (vegetables, fruits, potatoes, nuts, etc). Other applications include tobacco and recycling. 95% of the client portfolio is international. The Function
Teamwork & CommunicationAccording to the “SCRUM” method, you work in a multidisciplinary team on the complete design and development of the software for our sorting machines. You are an architecture expert and you are, together with your colleagues responsible for the full Software Development Lifecycle. You work on optimizing existing machinery and designing new, innovative machines. You can make your own design and develop innovative approaches. You write algorithms for image processing and data processing in C + + (and Java), programming the control of the machinery and implement Graphical User Interfaces. You promote internally the necessity of architecture and design, your colleagues can rely on your knowledge and experience. Every now and then you go on-site in order to bring new projects to a successful end in cooperation with the customer.
The Profile
Versatile with a passion for programmingA solid experience in C ++ is preferable, possibly supplemented by knowledge of BOOST and Qt. A new platform is recently implemented in Java, so good knowledge of Java, combined with the willingness to build up or improve your knowledge of C++ is an absolute plus. In any case, you have also contributed to the architecture of complex systems. You have a higher degree in Computer Science, you are a trained engineer with focus on software or equivalent experience. You have extended this with several years of working experience, in which you ideally were in contact with the development of software for controlling machines or image processing. Experience with XP techniques is an important asset. You have a passion for writing code and you can keep the overview of the bigger picture. You know how to transfer innovative and creative ideas into feasible solutions. Knowledge of English is required, additional knowledge of French or German is a plus.
